A cuppa whilst waiting . . .

There is comfort and security in a simple cup of tea.
There is tradition and safety in the act of brewing
In a teapot, with tea leaves, and using a tea strainer
To pour the deep golden liquid into a waiting mug.
There is pleasure in drinking the tea from a bone china mug
But there is also pleasure in a heavy stoneware mug
That feels sturdy and ideal to carry the cuppa into
The garden and observe the slow progress of nature.
If life has become difficult then have a cup of tea.
If you got good news in the post then have a cup of tea.
If you need a quick sit down then have a cup of tea.
Whatever the context then have a cup of tea
(But possibly not if you are driving down the motorway . . . )

The 'early' prompt was to view art online and take inspiration from an article. I chose a painting by Mary Cassatt called "The Cup of Tea".
