Hieroglyphics Lesson.
Hieroglyphics duplicate themselves
on many surfaces;
Have to
Nobody understands them any more.
But in fact, despite the ancient provenance of
Hieroglyphic communications, when we consider
This our modern age and the instant communication
Of mobile telephony and computers, then we
Realise that hieroglyphics are still alive and well
And in use when we text and when we use
Social media.
The prompt today was to take a poem and write one for ourselves that followed the same shape and that had the same stating letter for each line. I chose 'History Lesson' by Steve Turner - but extended it to contrast the old message with modernity.
